Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez is Koja d'Or's summer. Set along the curve of its own gulf on the Côte d'Azur, the town holds Riviera glamour and old fishing-village calm side by side without much fuss: a harbour full of yachts, the light that drew painters here more than a century ago, a market on the Place des Lices that runs as it always has, and pétanque in the shade behind it. Mornings start with a swim off Pampelonne and drift towards long lunches under the plane trees; after dark the old streets fill with candlelit terraces and the clubs that have set the tone for summer nights since the sixties. Our home here is one villa, The Prize of Pampelonne, a few minutes' walk from the beach, taken by the week from a Saturday.

Getting there and getting around

Nice and Toulon-Hyères are the airports for scheduled flights, and La Môle, a short drive from the villa, takes private aircraft. Tell us your flight and we will arrange the transfer, by road or by sea.

The villa stands in a private, gated domaine on the Pampelonne plain. Plage de Pampelonne and Club 55 are 350 metres away, a three-minute walk, which in August is the difference between a day at the beach and a morning in traffic. Saint-Tropez itself is 5 km, a fifteen-minute drive. There is parking for four cars inside the compound and a double garage, and at Famille and Gold a dedicated driver is included, so the town, the port and the restaurants of the peninsula are reachable without a car of your own.

How a stay works

The Prize of Pampelonne is sold at Concierge, Famille and Gold. At Concierge, the house is run for you: a villa manager on the peninsula who knows which beach club to call and when, housekeeping every day, the poolside set each morning with its basket of sun cream and essentials, flowers in the living room and champagne on arrival. Famille adds the table: a private chef for breakfast every morning and five further meals, long lunches on the travertine or dinners under the palm as you prefer, and a driver for the runs into town and back, including the restaurant evenings when the chef is off. Gold is the villa at full stretch: a butler leading hosts present from seven in the morning until one at night, the chef at six further meals, a chauffeur from eight until one, turn-down, laundry, linen and towels looked after, flowers in every bedroom, and your cases unpacked on arrival if you wish.

Food and wine are bought for you and billed at cost, and extra meals in the villa can be added as the week unfolds. The house runs Saturday to Saturday. The summer grid is on the Services page.

Which Saint-Tropez villa is walkable to Pampelonne beach?

The Prize of Pampelonne: 350 metres to Plage de Pampelonne and Club 55, about three minutes on foot along the plain. The villa was designed around its pool rather than the sea, with a twenty-five metre heated pool, eight-metre ceilings and glass walls that retract fully on the ground floor, so the beach is where you go when you want the sea and the house is where you go when you want quiet.

How many people does the villa sleep?

Twelve adults across six en-suite bedrooms. Five of the bedrooms sit in a wing that opens directly onto the pool area, with twin beds that join to form generous doubles, so the split between couples and single guests can be decided the week before rather than at booking. Staff are housed in two separate cottages behind the hedge, entirely cut off from the house.

What does the lightest level at the villa include?

Concierge: a villa manager who runs the house and the peninsula around you, housekeeping every day, the poolside kept ready, flowers, champagne on arrival and tourist taxes. Famille and Gold add the chef and the driver. Guests who like to cook have an open kitchen with terrace access, and food bought for the house is charged at cost.

What is included with the pool and the grounds?

A twenty-five metre heated pool, travertine terraces with outdoor dining for twelve and a lounge under a stately palm, eleven sunbeds with broad parasols, a massage room in the pool wing, and 3,360 m² of flat, private gardens. The house is fully air-conditioned. The poolside is kept ready every day at every service level.

When can I stay, and what deposits apply?

The villa is let in summer, Saturday to Saturday, with a minimum of seven nights. The security deposit is EUR 20,000, which may increase for bookings longer than three weeks, and the service deposit is EUR 10,000 per week.
